Easter is a day that is celebrated by Catholics world-wide. It is the day when they praise and worship God for the greatest miracle of all time, the day when Jesus Christ rose from the dead.

Jesus was brutally tortured and finally crucified. After Jesus died, all his apostles lost hope. His apostles now thought that it was all over, and that now they would never get to see him again. They hid themselves out of fear. Jesus' body was kept in a tomb that was covered by a huge stone. Guards were kept to stand on the either side of the tomb, on the outside to protect the body. On the third day after Jesus' crucifixion, Mary of Magdalene (someone who was very close to Jesus) came to visit the tomb when the angel of the Lord appeared to her. The angel informed her about Christ's rising from the dead. This is from where the beautiful story of Easter starts. Apart from all the joy and celebration that Easter brings, this occasion also remembers this sacred event. Jesus suffered all his life only to save us from our sins and finally he died. He suffered the worst kind of death ever, yet before he died he asked God to forgive all those who caused pain to him. Since then, the cross is held as one of the most beautiful symbols of love. Many-a-times in our day-to-day life as well we are faced with trials and persecution from others. The day of Easter comes to us as a reminder that no good deed goes unrewarded, and no evil deed goes unpunished. It teaches us about hope and tells us never ever to lose faith in God. It also reminds us that God always keeps his promise. Even when we are faced with the most painful moments, we should never lose hope in God. We can get all that we want and all that we need only by believing in God, because he loves us so much. Easter, hence, is a celebration of the love of God to the world.

Easter is not just another date in the calendar. It is the sign of God's promise to the world. It is the day when good won over evil. It is one of the most beautiful days in every Christian's life, when they are reminded about God's never-ending love and compassion to the world. So have faith in the love of God.
