I hope you read the first two parts of this article. Let me tell you about some more historic places to visit in New Delhi, the capital of India.

Lotus Temple - Lotus temple is the Baha'i house of worship. It is dedicated to the oneness of all the religions. It is the most famous temple of New Delhi. It is built in the shape of a Lotus flower. The temple is among the most visited places by tourists.

Akshardham Temple - The Akshardham temple is one of the most popular and recently built temples in New Delhi. The temple was constructed by Bochasanwasi Shri Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS) inspired by Shree Pramukh Swami Maharaj - a leader of BAPS. The temple is dedicated to lord Swaminarayana - lord Krishna. It is located on the bank of Yamuna river. It is spread over 100 acres area. The temple is built without steel and supported by around 234 carved pillars, 9 ornate domes, 20 Shikhars, and 20,000 statues of great devotees and sadhus of India are carved inside the temple. The base of the temple is made of Gajendra Pith. Pink stones and white marbles were used to construct the temple because pink stone symbolize Bhakti (faith) and white marble symbolize peace. The statue of lord Swaminarayana is made up of panch dhatu (five metals) and is 11 feet high. The temple was inaugurated in November 2005 by Shree Pramukhswami maharaj in the presence of the then President of India, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and other leaders. The temple is recorded as the world's most largest comprehensive Hindu temple in the Guinness book of world records. There are many other attractions like the hall of value which displays the life of Swaminarayana. There is a theatre named Nilkanth Yatra which houses Delhi's biggest screen. There are also musical fountains, gardens, boat rides, etc. Thus all in all, its a must visit place.


There are many other places to see and visit in Delhi like the ISKCON Temple, Rashtrapati Bhavan, Jantar Mantar, National Rail Museum, Parliament House, etc.
