Finally the day that all of us awaited for so long came by. The Royal Wedding! Undoubtedly it was a day that will go down in history. Even days after, there will be so many things that we will not be able to forget. Some of the most unforgettable things about the Royal Wedding are the new trends that came with it. Following are 5 new trends from the Royal Wedding.
(1) A Bridal Gown With Sleeves
The moment Kate stepped in front of the cameras on her big day, all eyes went on her gown. And everybody liked what they saw. While the most popular fashion trend for bridal dresses is strapless or sleeveless, Kate opted for an elegant and a modest bridal gown with sleeves. Unlike the extremely gaudy gowns that brides opt for, her gown was modest and divine. Her gown is said to most resemble Grace Kellys. The lace on the sleeves gave a classy and sophisticated look to the gown, while the train look of the gown made it look simple yet stylish.
(2) The Veil
Her veil was made with dazzling ivory silk tulle and also was hand-embroidered with flowers done by the Royal School of Needlework. It was kept perfectly in place with the use of the royal tiara. "Something old, something borrowed, something new, something blue", is a traditionally old concept followed by some brides. Kate Middleton kept up to the tradition, by wearing a lovely tiara shaped in the form of a halo, lent to her by The Queen.
(3) The Hair Do
Kate has showed us that less is more with her elegant hair style. Unlike the completely rolled up hair and overly decorated hair-dos that are very much 'in' for brides, Kate preferred to let her beautiful tresses down. She kept her hair-do very natural, and yet it looked so very classy. Her hair-do was a simple "demi-chignon" style done by her favorite person, James Pryce from her favorite salon, Richard Ward of Chelsea in London.
(4) The Earrings
The pair of earrings that the young Duchess wore for this regal event, was carefully set with diamonds that peered out through the beautifully stylized oak leaves shaped design. They also consisted of a beautiful pear shaped set drop. The earrings also had a pavé set diamond acorn that was engraved at the centre. The unique design was inspired from Kate's family's coat of arms that had oak leaves and acorns.
Finally, there is no clear cut formula to look royal. Kate proved this, by the way she walked and carried herself. She would look royal anyway, even if it were not for the lovely attire.
